Use Lesson 1 to understand what an emotional trigger is and how it hurts you. Do the exercise to identify some of your personal triggers, the ones that take the most energy. You'll also choose the person or situation you will detrigger this week!

In this lesson you’ll learn more about emotional triggers, what they are and why they tend to get you into trouble. You’ll be learning about the principle of emotional freedom and how it can help you think and act without inappropriate judgment.

Most importantly you’ll be learning more about your own emotional triggers and the people and situations that tend to trigger you.

When you complete the exercise, you’ll have chosen a specific person or situation coming up in the next several days that you can use to practice Detriggering on.

Don’t have a situation coming up? Create one! Yes, you can intentionally create a situation that triggers you by leaning into one of your fears. For example, if your boss intimidates you when she gives you feedback, plan to stop her in the hall and ask for feedback on a specific situation. Make sure to get through Lesson 2 before you do!
